My First Marathon was Great, and now Over!

It was a beautiful day, I was very nervous when the starting gun went off, but crossing the finish line 6 hours, 14 minutes, and 7 seconds later was an amazing feeling. The Marine Corps clearly knows a thing or two about running a large scale race and the location, Washington, D.C. provided a phenomenal backdrop. My favorite sign along the route was held by a spectator at mile 17 that read: "The reason your feet hurt is because you're kicking ass!" Kicking ass indeed...but time to get back to painting, and posting to my blog once again.

CONGRATULATIONS! You look wonderful! I'm so proud of you too! Now get ready for your Open Studio, girl. I have one, too, so I probably will miss it, but I'll be thinking of you. Met a woman from CA who has a condo in Holland! (near Kinderdyke) :)

Thanks Nina and Kelley,

I think the long distance bug has bit me...I wish it didn't take so long to cover the mileage because now I try to get a 7-8 mile run in each day on the weekend B4 doing other stuff. The wall board is finally up in my studio so this week will be a marathon of a different kind...

Glad to hear that the wall board is up!

YAY Paula. You and Nini are amazing!
Thanks SO much for visiting my studio and the comment on my blog. It means a lot to me.
Looking forward to doing something together again soon. I will email you about Florida. Roz arrives there in April which gives us about 5 weeks before I start for home. Boy does time fly!
Happy Painting and running!
