A Southie Street Corner

I challenged myself to paint this view in South Boston. The old houses are so interesting with their sometimes inconsistent decoration and in this case, on a steep hill. Each house is so unique.

Paula,

Like all your paintings, this one makes me want to know the story. How many families live there and what are their lives like? Are there cushioned window seats at those front windows? What's down the hill from the house? You have a way of making what is likely an ordinary house on an average street look special. I like this a lot.

Thanks everyone, and Liza, me too. I am always amazed at the energy each space possesses...either because of the life going on inside or that used to happen inside...even abandoned buildings tell a story that each of us could interpret differently. What I think I like about the Southie buildings is their uniqueness. And one-time grandeur...in some cases restored.

I very much like this painting. You seem to have a particular feeling for objects fairly close up. I find the same strengths in this one as in Pemberton Places and Happy Earth Day. Excellently conceived.

Paula,

Super magic with colors!.I feel like inviting you to India again. In India many houses are same as you draw here with telephone cables etc.You will have a good inspiration for sure!
How are you doing?
