I love to fly...most of the time. Every time I see a plane, I wonder where it's going and I dream of travelling again. I almost called this "Cheap Sunglasses," but "Taking Off" made more sense. I painted this for our on-line challege group, "Girls Just Wanna Paint." and the challenge was "Dream."

FUN!!!
Cool painting!
Good to see you back Paula...interesting perspective on this.
I love it, Paula! The crop and the subject matter are super! Are you a spontaneous traveller?
It is funny how a painting or drawing can reveal conscious or subconscious desires. Your gal in the foreground is facing the viewer and her eyes are deceptively shielded by sunglasses. But the plane's prominence, as the only thing in the background, makes it extremely important to the narrative. Such a simple image and yet, it conveys myriad implications.
Thanks Marian, Rhonda, Vern, Linny, and Yvonne for visiting and for your comments. And Linny, a spontaneous traveller? Only in my dreams! Yvonne...the potential for narrative did seem endless....
I love the crop on this! And I've always had a thing for portraits with sunglasses... why is that?
Dearest,
I am waking in the night remembering that I've neglected to answer TWO of your emails about visiting this winter.
Please forgive me.
I am totally with you in making your parents a place in Hingham. I can feel your love and commitment to them.
Let's have a paint out at your house this summer and visit.
XO,
Mary
Hey Mary...I think you DID get back to me...anyway, looking forward to your return and doing some plein air in the area...but more importantly, seeing YOU! Nice to hear from you, we all miss you.
Love this! Super fun.
Very cool, interesting/cropped perspective.
Hi Paula!... A very interesting design in this one... and well painted to boot!
The low "landscape" of your face and sunglasses in juxtoposition to the jet and its jet stream is a marvelous compositional foil!
Your imaginative title gives the whole piece... "Lift Off"!!!
Well dane!
Good painting!
Regards,
Bruce
