The Hob Nob is an outdoor drive-in diner on Route 301 in Sarasota, Florida. I had to go there the first time I saw it which was some time around 1986...I'm glad I took photos of it because they remodeled it to what it looks like in this painting...at least it's not that much different. I may get around to painting the "old" Hob Nob one of these days...

Wow... Ed Hopper would be proud! I love all that vintage signage. You did such a good job on all the detail! What size is this Paula?
i LOVE the HobNob - my mom lives close by in Sarasota. Great painting
It's fun to memorialize special places like this isn't it??
What a great name... The "Hob Nob".
Thanks ladies! (and Marian, somehow I had deleted your comment but I still had it in my email...that's why you're "Anonymous!"
Paula, I saw you and your painting with your group in South Shore Living! Congratulations!
Hope you are well...
Haven't heard from you lately!!!
Just checking in on you girlfriend. {{{Paula}}}
I've just stumbled upon your blog and I really like your work. You have such a direct and colorful approach to handling paint. I can see why more than a few people mention Edward Hopper, but kind of reminds me as well of Thiebaud. Love it!
