I often sit in traffic at the red light on this corner on Massachusetts Avenue and I see the white cat sitting in the window above Estelle's restaurant. Since our theme for the "Girls Just Wanna Paint" challenge for this month was "Comfort," I thought that this cat is the picture of comfort, in her window seat, queen of all she surveys.

"Window Seat" Acrylic 8"x10"

Boston Herald 24"x48"
We've been enduring heavy hits of snow and severe storms here in the Northeast resulting in driving bans, closed schools and businesses, and the most snow we have ever received at once in history. With snowbanks much taller than me, it's increasingly more difficult to move the snow from driveways and walkways. Rooves are collapsing and driving can be treacherous due to high snowbanks and narrow roadways. This weekend, between stints of shovelling, I made this painting.

Paragon Park Carousel Horse 24"x36"
This is a painting of one of the horses at our beloved local carousel, a remnant from the former "Paragon Park" amusement park at Nantasket Beach. The horses and carousel have been lovingly maintained and definitely prompt a smile.

Figure Study 24"x30"
It was kind of cold and I was ready to settle in for the evening but I packed my paints, easel, and canvas and headed for a figure painting session. Glad I did. She was a great model and I love painting with other painters from life. I will need to go back and paint more models.

Field of Honor II
I started painting this at the annual "Field of Honor" in Cohasset, Massachusetts in May, 2013, was unable to finish it and put it away, then pulled it out a couple of months ago and completed it. The actual scene appears to have about 1,000 flags and is quite moving.
