Thanks Ladies, and wishing you both all of the good things this season has to offer! Phyllis, this was my card for this year; I make them each year from cut silk-screened paper so the actual colors are more vibrant than how I photographed them (of course!). I appreciate your comments!
Hi Paula... I love this card, it's so beautiful! So, this is a collage, right? It looks so much like a relief print or silkscreen to me. Oh the lucky people who will be receiving it this year :) Peace and joy to you and your family, Paula! ~Brenda
Thanks Brenda, and much joy and peace to you and your family too! (and it is a collage, made from a box of silk screened paper called Color Aid, an expensive supply I had to buy as a poor art student many years ago..I didn't fully understand it's value then but as a "grown up artist" I have been completely enjoying it's beauty and the possibilities)!
Got it! And love it! You have such a nice series - going back .... how long? You should make a book out of the Christmas paintings from Apple. Cool. And your card is... er... in the mail....?
Thanks Sandy and Kelley...hope you had a lovely Christmas as well! ...and Kelley...I started these in 2000 so I guess that makes this year #10! Good idea about the mac book...those are nice, maybe when I have a few more years to add...oh, and I'll be waiting by my mailbox!
Hi Paula, Thanks for your comment (and that I've made a reply to on my blog-- not sure what's the proper protocol?).
I love this piece, it reads as a silkscreen or cut out paper. Oops, I see from your comment it is BOTH (oh, and I Remember now that box of expensive coated paper! I had to buy one too. Now I wish I still had it.)
This is just lovely. The stark shadows, the sharp stars... Love that jaunty cat at the front. Very designy. I miss seeing art like this!
