Hey Now

While driving to my painting site yesterday, I heard that song from Crowded House on the radio, "Don't Dream It's Over," and for the first time, I listened to the lyrics. The opening lines grabbed me:

"There is freedom within, there is freedom without
Try to catch the deluge in a paper cup...."

It reminded me of how easy it is to become overwhelmed with less than important details that can really wear us down over time if we're not careful. I see it all the time, and I even let it happen to me for awhile, and I'm just glad I was able to identify it and move in the direction in which I could flourish rather than burnout. That said, I will be posting images soon, at least I should be anyway. I've been painting like crazy, I just need to finish some of them. It's been great.

You go girl. Every day when I get up I say, I CAN do this. Thanks for dropping in on the cats ;)
Can't wait for the jeep trip.

Thanks Mary! I guess my blog entry sounds a little more dire than I intended, but the song did remind me to consider what is truly important in life...you know, like jeep trips! Now if I could just finish a couple of paintings....

Hey there! So glad you made the decisions you did. I think it's pretty obvious that you're doing the right thing.

And p.s. based on my sneak peaks at some of those paintings... I think you're doing GREAT stuff!

Thanks Nini, having this time to paint is definitely the bee's knees!
